Welcome to Music Education For All’s Musical Terms Dictionary. Please feel free to browse the dictionary by clicking on the letters above, or if you would like to explore a specific subject, I encourage you to utilize the Quick Reference links below. At Music Education for All, we strive to present an informative reference tool that relies more on media than earlier text-exclusive online music dictionaries. We also aim to make musical terms more relevant by presenting them in-context; that is, learning about “adagio” does not make as much sense without the context of other tempo markings, thus we provide a comparison page, rather than separate pages for each tempo marking.
Musical terms included in this music dictionary may be slanted towards music education; along with a definition, there may be tips presented for appropriate teaching practice or commentary related to the field of music education. If you have noticed an error in these pages, or if you would like to contribute to the dictionary, please feel free to contact me using the contact form.
Please note that the dictionary is currently under initial construction and development.
